Using Maschine in Sonar X3

Can somebody please help me! Im running Maschine in Sonar x3 and when I play a midi note in Maschine, Im seeing the faders jump in Sonar, but when I press record, Sonar wont record the midi notes. I have tried a combination of Midi channels and the whole shebang, but clearly I am still missing something. Can anybody please help me!?!?! I will be forever in your debt!! (yes, Maschine is in Midi mode)
