Using Melodyne Essential for Syncing Tempos

I'm about to go batty.  I'm simply trying to match Sonar's tempo clock to a click track that seems to waiver quite a bit.  As for Melodyne, I've had great success using it as a pitch correction tool, but as a syncing tool, well, some of the tools I can't even find.  For instance, I can't find the Transport tool, therefore, I can't find the Auto stretch tool.  I've read the Timing portion of the manual where it spks of the Transport tool, and it doesn't say I have to upgrade to Editor to use that, but neither does it show me how to simply drag the blobs to the correct beat.  I've tried all sorts of approaches it offers, but no results.
PLEASE HELP! PLEEEEZE?

    King,

First off...... I'm no expert on Melodyne, but it sounds to me like you might be confused between the control features of the ARA integrated version, and using it as a stand-alone plug?  It's my understanding that the transport controls that you are looking for don't display in the integrated version.  The ARA integration uses the transport features in SONAR.  Maybe you should instantiate the standalone plug and the controls that you're looking for might be there?....although there's gotta be a way to do what you're trying to do in the integrated version too!  Just a few thoughts from another user that's learning as I go!  Best luck!

Going along that same line of thought, I have the Editor version but I'm thinking that not all functions are going to work or even display in the essentials version.

A click track that wavers in it's tempo? That shouldn't even be.

Have you gone to the Melodyne website and viewed the videos they have posted there?  They show how to use the functions.

Also... check this chart.... you may not have that function: http://www.celemony.com/cms/index.php?id=383
Notice in the "tools" part of the comparison chart that most of the functions are missing from the essentials version.

Are you using Sonar 8.5.3?  I'm not familiar with the older stuff, but I think some of the newer stuff has audio snap to help fix such issues easily as opposed to using a third party route.

Thanks for the tips guys.  I haven't tried the stand alone version, but I might.  Re: the waivering click trk...I don't quite understand how that happens either.  I bought some mp3 backing tracks, and the website says some of the tempos waiver; however, they're songs that the tempo shouldn't waiver at all.  At any rate, I've got to have Melodyne help me with those.  I did watch a bunch of tutorials, and read a lot of the manual.

I used to have 8.5.3 until a couple of months ago when I realized I had to upgrade while the price was right.  I checked that chart, and you may be right that it doesn't support this particular type of tool.  I'm going to call support Monday to get the real skinny.

    Tnx.
