Using TC Helicon Voice Live after-the-fact
Just wonder if many out there use one to pipe their vocals back through from Sonar to check out their vox tracks? I just picked up one from my brother and what a complex pedal. I read through the manual and watched a few good videos on it. My thoughts on it are the vocals I ran through it tonight had very little correction so I dont think its worth converting original tracks to corrected ones. Kinda leaves in a little human factor/touch. I am curious to see it work on a song that could really use correcting though.

I don't know, all I ended up with is the TC Helicon VoiceWorks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkiZ2k8Cffo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVXMd8m_vog But the one video helped me, and the other is just listening to some harmony. (I am not starting IE because this forum runs everything together in Firefox15)?? There is another video where they use the auto-tune better in the entire video, sort of a News song theme where quite a few people have listened to it. (about 3 million) I don't know if I can find that again, but they did more than 1 of the videos I think, and it may be on going - they are kind of funny to.(some group)

Found it, it is appropriately called - "autotune the news" and that is the search to use on utube! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KucV8renOfI there are a lot more of them. Funny sort of! But I get tired of autotunning anything.

I don't know what unit they are to "autotune the News" or politicians.

The videos are original though. Too much autotune sometimes for me, but perhaps that is just trying to put their voices to music.

Perhaps they should autotune and put to music that movie that is causing the riots over there in the Middle East or China!

I have a VoiceLive unit, which I use in live performance. Unfortunately, the quality is too poor for recording purposes. Unless maybe as a special effect.
All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to. My Stuff

Mike, Not sure about the older voicelive, I use the voicelive 2, quality is exemplorary. Like all things of course, used in moderation. The vocals on Why I'm still here, backing vocals, were done using it, after the fact. I actually bought it for live, but it worked out better for use in the studio. The cheaper voice live touch is also very good, but that is definitely made for live. Anyone want to buy a really good con in box Voice Prism Plus? ;) Tony

Thanks Tony, Glad to hear. Thats kinda what I figured by reading up on it and having access to one now. Really wouldnt see what the difference is if the vocals are put into it (whether it be produced or sung) then piped back into Sonar from it. I need to learn programming the chord structures into it now to try out. I have some pretty good singers available but no one is perfect and slips here and there do occur. Nice thought to have this on standby to kinda clean things up easily.
