Using Toontrack MIDI with Addictive Drums

So...NEVER having delved into drum maps...or whatever ...  Using Superior or EZD as typically a first "go to".... it would be nice to hear how some of the Addictive Drum kits sound, using the same MIDI.
Ok...so I opened up AD and dragged the MIDI into the track.  Of course the kit pieces don't line up from Toontrack to AD.  The Toontrack HH are now AD cymbals, etc, etc.

I presume there is a [semi] easy way to get the kit pieces to match up from one manufacturer to another.  But not sure where to even look to start...except the cry out my plea in the forums here!  I would imagine dragging the MIDI lines would be the looong way around and then not sure I'd match them up correctly anyway.

so..??  Just point in the right direction and I'll dig from there.

If Superior or EZD uses GM you can open map window in AD2 change map preset to GM.

Unfortunately, I don't believe Toontrack uses GM.  I tried the other choices AD offers, but no luck.  I can change the kit pieces one at a time within AD, but too time consuming just to check out the AD sounds with the MIDI I've already created.
The differences seem to be the HHs and stuff like the snare rimshots...and with my Toontrack drum rolls, AD is throwing in the cowbell, if you can believe that!!  More cowbell!!  lol!

After scouring the internet for a bit, it seems it  was kinda doable....but there was no perfect solution.  Stuff like articulations, velocities...all that stuff is too different between Toontrack and AD.
Maybe some drum genius will stumble upon this and have a 2016 solution.

Contact Clint Martin, I believe that he has the drum map conversion file for this.

+1  There's an EZDrummer map you can load into AD, and it works great.

It's not hard to create a drum map to use Toontrack MIDI files in AD (or vice versa).  You'll need to do this as they use different mappings for the kit pieces.

I've done it for my go-to SD kit, and also to use my SD MIDI files in AD.  It probably took 20 minutes. I still use the native drum synth when looking for the right loop, but then can drag it into the alternate MIDI map to have it play properly in the other synth (AD midi in SD, or SD midi in AD).

I'm not at my DAW, so this may have the wrong terminology, but the process should help.
Open a Toontrack MIDI clip, with the Toontrack Drum Map.
It mostly involves opening up AD and confirming the Drum Map In for each kit piece (and their various different hits).  Then change the Out # in the Drum Map to match the AD IN number notes.  You can also change the names if you want, to something that translates better.  And drag/drop the rows to put them in a better order.

There's a tutorial somewhere on using Drum Maps.  They're not complicated, and can really help with your workflow.  I do my programming with a mouse, so I've added rows that have the same instruments at 60% or 120% velocity (for example).  It's easier than adjusting the velocity in each note.

thx guys.   Slug...I should try your route first and then I'd learn stuff as well.  CLint's drum map will be a plan B.  I'll load up on drum map learning.

I have since discovered EZ Player Pro from Toontrack.  It makes all of this super easy without being so fiddly.

Isn't there a Sonar Wiki, or some sort of storehouse of goodies that a Sonarite created?  If so, I have a bunch of EZ drummer maps that I have been sharing to individuals over the years, as well as the EZ to AD maps being discussed here.  Can I share them with someone who can place those in that magical emporium of Sonar stuff?
