Using V-Studio 20 as ACT Controller in Sonar 6 Studio

Is it possible to use the V-Studio 20 to control the sliders and transport controls in Sonar Studio 6? I am running 64 Bit Windows 7 and 64 Bit Sonar Studio 6. I've tried setting up the controller and it doesn't seem to be working.

Anyone have any success with this scenario?

Thanks,

Jeff B.

    Hi Jeff,

You'll need the 64-bit control surface plug-in for the VS-20 which is currently in the final stages of testing. The control surface plug-in that was included in the software in the box is 32-bit only (this is because the included Guitar Tracks application is 32-bit only).

We should have the 64-bit version of the control surface available on our site to download before the end of June. When it is ready I will post a note in this forum.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks for your updates, Samara.   I've received my VS-20 and want to use it with my 64-bit Sonar Producer setup.

Are we still on schedule for a release of the 64-bit control software (i.e., end of June)?
Just wanted to let you know you have Sonar customers chomping at the bit to use faders and control surface automation.

    Hi Sijel,

We're waiting on approval from Roland Japan. I emailed them yesterday to get an update. As soon as we know more information we'll post it here.

Thanks for your support and patience!

am I right assuming that with this 64-bit control surface plug-in the V-20 will provide all the same features as it does now in guitar tracks in sonar 8.53 ?

    thanks,

It's been a month now... I guess Roland  Japan cares less about a few owners of VS-20 who want to use it with Sonar x64

    Sonar 8.5.2 PE, Studio One Pro 1.5, Win7 x64 x32, Intel q6600@3GHz, Intel Core i3 520, SSD, HDD,  Tascam FW1082, Studiolive 16.4.2, V-Studio 20

    Hi all,

I mentioned in a separate post we will post the x64 VS-20 control surface early next week, hopefully as early as late Monday July 26, 2010. Japan has been backlogged which is one of the reasons for the delay. The other reasons are so boring and inconsequential at this point I won't mention them. I'm with you guys; I really wanted this out in early June as we originally planned, however it just didn't work out that way.

Regarding an earlier post by feal about feature support - yes, the x64 version is identicial to the current x86 version.

One thing that is very important to understand is that the VS-20 and Guitar Tracks have a couple very, very unique features and functions. For example the MIDI Backing Knob on the VS-20 hardware will not control anything in SONAR, HS, etc. This is because it is locked to the MIDI Backing Track in Guitar Tracks.

You will have full transport control, full track select and volume control, banking control and full COSM effects control.

I will post a sticky in this forum when the control surface is available to download. Again, we're looking good for late Monday July 26.

Let me know if there is anything else I can answer in the meantime.

Thanks for your patience and continued support!

That's exactly what I want to do from my Sonar Producer x64 (8.5.3 and the new Dim Pro 1.5!)

Microsoft Surface Book w/ Surface dock, dual 24-inch HD displays,
Sonar Platinum, THD 4, GuitarRig, Amplitube, (Kontakt4), Garritan PO, Trillian Bass 1.3,  Roland Octa-Capture, Waves Gold & various Waves, PSP and T-Racks plugins.
