Using a laptop with Profire 610

Up to now, I've always worked on desktop computer with a Delta 1010LT soundcard from M-Audio...No problem whatsoever....But recently I acquired a Profire 610 soundcard and I am thinking of buying myself a new laptop to be able to record anywhere outside home....I know I need to be careful about the chipset for my Firewire card......But my worry is more about how good is a PC laptop as an audio workstation....I am thinking of getting myself a Dell 2.66 Core 2 laptop! I hope it will work as fluid as my desktop computer!

Does anyone of you here use PC laptops to record their music? How good is it?
