Using brushes in EZDrummer 2?

My current project needs brushes similar to this Fleetwood Mac video (Fleetwood Mac - Say You Love Me - The Dance -1997):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKnfGqYOdrw&index=8&list=RDqNM6IuA87eM

I just installed my EZ Drummer 2 (purchased last year) and have not yet used it. I see from the website there are brush kits in the Nashville EZX library which I have and also the new Traditional Country EZX which I do not have.

I'm curious, before I work on this next week, has anyone used brushes in EZDrummer? How are they?

I should probably get the Traditional Country but I'd also like to wait for the next sale, which is probably a ways out...

Thanks batsbrew! Yes that is my understanding from the excellent Groove 3 tutorial I just took. I am looking forward to getting into it next week...I'm still not sure I can get the sound I'm looking for...

Maybe if I put on that wild grin that Mick Fleetwood always has pasted on his face...it couldn't hurt...

I'm a big fan of Fleetwood Mac too. Tons of great stuff on youtube. Destiny Rules is an excellent documentary about the making of the equally excellent 'Say you Will'.

Thanks, I hadn't seen that documentary! Now I've got it bookmarked and ready to watch over the weekend :)

I have EZ Drummer 2 with the Nashville kit. It has a preset for Basic Brushes that sounds really good.
I used it on this song (not similar to Fleetwood Mac BTW).

Yahoo Jimmy, that is pretty close to what I'm looking for...and a great song and production as well, now I really want to dance! :)

Now I'm nitpicking here but I was hoping to get a little more variety other than straight brush hits like some of those swishes and swirls and tom hits that good drummers do but maybe that is more within the jazz realm...I think you have demonstrated to me what I wanted to know, however, and that is I think I'll get adequate results with the brushes on Nashville. I know I would still like to have the traditional country EZX in my library.

I did a search this morning and loop loft has a large selection like a 4 box bundle of brushes and they sound quite good but, shucks, they are not in midi mode.

Here's what I wish: Toontrack would soon offer:

1.) A Mick Fleetwood EZX
2.) A Grande Ol Opry EZX
3.) A Russell "Russ" Kunkel EZX

...preferably in a three pack to go with a bonus Joe Butler (Lovin' Spoonful) EZX thrown in...Then I'd really dance (for money down on State Street so I could immediately pay for it without waiting a year for it to go on sale!)

Incidentally Jimmy, those are beautiful flowers!

I don't know if you have Addictive Drums or not, but their Jazz Brushes ADPak and the associated Jazz Grooves: Brushes MIDIPak should give you the "sweep" you're looking for. Scroll about half way down the page of the first link (to the ADPak). There are 3 additional demos, including a "brush hit" demo and a "brush sweep" demo. In that same location, there's a short description of XLN's RealSweep technology.

I have X3 so I assume I have Addictive Drums? I'm not sure...wow I've got to get with it because there is good "sweeps" and hits in the link you have provided...I'm sure my meager pc can handle a singer / songwriter couple of tracks without much problem...I should install X3 and take advantage of all the goodies...

Thanks John a bunch...that is really narrowing in on what I could best use in a drumpak!

Oh and incidentally, another EZDrummer EZX I would like is the original drummer who did Babylon for David Gray...Wow!
