V 700 change recording bitrate from 16 over to 24

Hey guys I use the Roland V 700 r & V 700 C and I usually record in 16 bit. My buddy wants me to do a vocal track in 24 bit. do I change the recording bit rate on the V 700 R or in Sonar platinum? Thank you!

I'm in Sonar platinum Pro.

(do I just turn the knob on the lower left of the V 700 R from 44, 100 up to 48000?)

AFAIK this is only to be changed inside Sonar (Preferences / Driver Settings) ... there is no change required on the VS-700R

turning the knob on te VS-700R from 44.1 to 48kHz changes the sample rate, which is something totally different than changing bit depth from 16 to 24 ...
