V Studio 700 Fantom
Exactly which Fantom is the V Studio's Fantom based on. Is is the Fantom S? The Fantom X? Or the new Fantom G?

The specs say that the V Studio's Fantom accepts the new ARX cards, which would make me believe that it is based on the new Fantom G, but the Fantom G comes with over 1600 patches and the V Studio's has only around 1400. So there is something different about the V Studio's Fantom. That's why I asked the question.

Exactly which Fantom is the V Studio's Fantom based on. They said the Fantom XR. But I wonder if it has sample capabilities?

Exactly which Fantom is the V Studio's Fantom based on. FWIW, I believe I read that it accepts the new "Super Natural" expansions (Drums and E Piano currently available)... which means it has to be based (at least in part) on the Fantom G.

I stated that in my previous post, but like I said, the Fantom G has a well over 200 more pathces than the Fantom VS, so there is still something different. I would really like to see a comparison chart of some sort. That would clear up any and all questions.

Well maybe I'm missing something here, but to my mind I don't see how whichever version it is will make any difference. The Fantom is essentially a performance machine and you're not going to be getting that handy customised user interface with the V Studio. Just the bunch of sounds. Wouldn't surprise me if a later incarnation was a Fantom with a V Studio interface built into its front panel though. And another point to ponder. All of Roland's other computer interfaces for audio and video are marketed under the Edirol brand. Why not this piece of kit?

Because it's marketed under the Cakewalk brand, having been developed by / with that 'branch'.

Seth has answered the OPs question here in another thread here it's apparently a VS, which is an advanced VR, so he says.
