V-700C question

Hi guys,

I just have a simple question about the V-700C controller which I'm considering to buy!

Does the ACT controller part of the V-700C show the parameters of the plugin it's controlling on it's display? Or do you still have to use the ACT window in Sonar?

The parameter names and values are displayed on the LCD above the ACT knobs. This works very well in most cases. You may occasionally come across a plugin whose designers didn't properly name the parameters. In those rare cases you will have to look at the screen to figure out which knob controls which controls.

Thank you! Regarding the parameter names, isn't it possible to rename them somehow?

No, I don't think so currently. However, it will be interesting to see what the new X1D update brings in this regard. Using FX chains 2.0, it is conceivable that you could create your own custom interfaces for those plugins. The unknown question at this time: Can these custom interfaces be accessed like other plugins using the VS-700C?. The X1D update press release  seems to imply that this may be possible.
