VISTA CRASHES ALL THE TIME.. IS THIS COMMON OR JUST ME????
Over and over my sonar, music creator 3 and music creator 5 crashes on vista... I noticed it the moment I put it on vista... crash after crash, after crash... IS IT VISTA or is there a fix????

First..... welcome......
now.... MC3, are the specs listing Vista as an approved OS? I know MC5 is good to go on Vista 32bit OS.
Next, have you gotten all the updates for your sound drivers and MC5?
Next, are you using the factory (built in) sound card to record & playback?
Next, how long has the computer been running with Vista?
Next, is the computer dedicated solely to music or does it serve other purposes?
The answers to these questions will assist us, in addition give the computer specs, sound card, speed, RAM, etc....
I had a Vista laptop where the OS and registry had gotten corrupted from normal use, and I had all sorts of problems. A reformatting of the hard drive and a reinstall of the OS with associated application software resolved the crashes I was having.
Vista has a "restore to factory" setting..... you might have to look it up, but it will automatically reformat and reinstall the OS with just one click..... get a cup of coffee, return 30 minutes later and it's just like brand new.

99% of the time crashes are due to the soundcard drivers, not MC. what soundcard do you have and which version of vista do you have (32 or 64bit) and do you have the appropriate drivers for your operating system for your soundcard?

I sorry but seeing Beags avatar is giving me nightmares!
One question, Why do you need MC3, and MC5 and Sonar? Shouldn't Sonar alone have everything they have and more?

Suprise after surpise... for what ever reason there are sone projects, not certain synth touch's or what that wont play back the same on sonar as they do on MC3... and mc5 plays them like they are on sonar... I've went and adusted all the dirvers I can and matched them to each other the best the options would allow, but still I have three midi/synth projects that will wont play back the samne on sonar or MC5... MC3 for whatever reason has the move for them and the only time they work as created... Sincerely, www.iethkey.com

all softsynths should play exactly the same in each program. they're all VST's and that's a standard. which ones won't play back the same?
exception: DX softsynths might not play if you're using 64bit OS, regardless of which version of cakewalk you're using.
