VS 700 Editor

Anyone know if Cakewalk plans to upgrade the software to allow multiple mixes?  (Like the software that comes with the OctaCapture).  As it is now I can create a mix in Sonar to give to the artist and I can then solo a channel without affecting what they're hearing.  But it's a lot of work and if the artist wants me to solo something (like after a vocal take) I can't do it for them.  I've used the RME software TotalMix which is pretty brilliant- a matrix that allows dozens of separate mixes.

Unfortunately, this is a hardware limitation with no way around it in software. The reason the Octa-Capture can do four separate mixes is because it has four separate DSPs in it. You could always piggy-back an Octa-Capture onto the VS-700, though.

    Thanks for the honesty bro!

I'm certainly not a developer/software writer by any stretch but I wonder why the RME MultiFace II (pretty simple device) utilizes the TotalMix software with like 8 completely different mixes.  I'm certain it DOESN'T have 4 DSP's!  ...just wondering aloud.

The RME stuff uses completely different DSPs. I'm not sure how it works, but apparently it can handle that many mixes at once. The VS-700R's just can't, unfortunately.
