VS-100 / Windows 10 April 2018 Update Warning

I updated yesterday to 1803 which is a fairly large update. My VS-100 is working on the audio output side but my inputs have stopped working and I can no longer use my mics. I'll be doing some troubleshooting the next few days to figure out what is going on. Not too concerned myself since I don't use the 100 in the studio but thought to post a warning for people who still might that you might want to hold off updating if you need the inputs. Windows has changed a lot of things around with this update including the sound settings.

Not worried about a roll back since this isn't my studio computer. Will likely just dump the 100 as the interface on this computer if I can't get it working and just use the onboard audio.

Go into the settings on the start menu. Then go to Privacy. Then to Microphone and allow apps to access your microphone. That fixed it for me.

I finally got round to updating Windows10 to 1803 today and thankfully it hasn't caused any problems with my VS-100 either on inputs or outputs which is a bit of a relief after reading the above! Not only that, my PC is noticeably quicker to respond and Cakewalk by BandLab (and my old Sonar Platinum for that matter) loads a lot faster. I might treat myself to a beer!
