VST Instruments

For those who use mostly or only VSTi in their music/songs can you post a link to your music that you feel sounds very good?  Also can you explain what instruments are VSTi.  Can you also identify what specific VSTi Product that you used.  Thank You!

Hi Bmack - All my music is written in Staff View using only soft synths / VSTi's. You can listen to them at the two Soundclick links below. I use mainly GPO and VSL with a few specialist VSTi's. As to which I think "sound very good", obviously the answer is "All of them"! Although there are many who will of course (quite rightly) differ with that view!

I use VST's in all my music. Link to it from my website>My Music.

I play my  guitars live and also some of the piano & bass tracks live. I also use the keys to input string parts and horn parts. I convert the midi source tracks using the following VST's

    I use:
    EWQL for strings
Kontakt & the other NI synths:  for strings, horns, pianos, world instruments
    Jamstix for drums

You can check out my latest thread here where I say what instruments I use, and my latest track.
    http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2239349

A quick lowdown of everything I use.

Z3ta,   still a great synth, but a lot of options
Komplete 5 (just gives you so many different sounds to choose from, it's a great package if you don't have anything, I think Komplete 7 is out now)
East West Quantum Leap Orchestra   (sounds amazing)
Rapture (has some great sounds, and they are nice expansion packs out for it)
FX Expansion's Synth Squad (very analog sounding to me)
Also EZ Drummer, and superior drummer for drums

Thinks I would like to get
    Omnesphere
    Alchemey
    EWQL Hollywood strings

WOW malcolm your good , you create all your songs using Home Studio 7 XL ?
I have the same DAW and used it for awhile untill I purchased Project 5 , the sound and mix sounds great !
Maybe I should start using Home Studio 7 XL again its sounds pretty good .
Are you using HS7XL to do your final mix too , I'm impressed with your music .

    Your music sounds great !Radio

I make all my songs (see Soundclick in my sig) with VSTi's. Even though I only use 'fake instruments', I like to make music that sounds 'real' or 'analogue'. Main instruments are RealGuitar, RealStrat and RealLPC. Because I like guitar based music I wouldn't be making music at all anymore if it wasn't for those three!!! (Can't play guitar myself anymore...) Lately I've been using EZDrummer for drums and Scarbee Pre-Bass for bass. To finish things off I use Dimension Pro (that came with Sonar 8.5 PE) and sometimes GPO for orchestral sounds. I have no need for other synths, really... (not the other ones that come with Sonar nor any other 3rd party synths).

Sonar 8.5 PE, Edirol FA-66, Behringer C-1. All instruments in my songs are VSTi's.

Right now I work 100% with VST, although I am gathering apps on my ipad that I will probably one day try to use in my music.

All of my music can be heard at Alphadeus.com and I also posted my most recent success in its own thread on this forum. :) Xuan's Nightmare (2011).

    In Xuan's Nightmare I used:

    Absynth 4
    Nexus 2
    Kontakt 3: DirectGuitar from Pettinhouse
    Guitar Rig 3
    Dimension Pro
EDIT: Choir shouts are from East West Goliath

Drum Loops from Zero-G products. so I guess not 100% VST.

Hey Twisted I went to your link for your song and it did not play.  Maybe you should consider myspace.  I wanted to hear what Independence free sounded like.  Do you have another link?  Thanks!  Bmack   twisted6s

Hello Hellogoodbye!  I clicked on your soundclick and then clicked the play button and just got a blue popup with thumbnails of you sitting in a chair with a guitar but the song never played.  FYI!

Thank you all for sharing your music.  I have really enjoyed it.  I would like for others to post if you are using 100% VSTs.  Please identify what VST instrument is used.  If it sounds real good I might wanna go out and buy it.   Thanks again!
