VST Lock Up
Has anyone had an issue with all VSTs locking up in Sonar Producer 8.5? I installed Superior Drummer 2.0, and it freezes as soon as it's launched, doesn't even complete loading samples. I then discovered that EZDrummer and all other VSTs no longer work, and they worked fine before. This is a brand new, empty file, no audio, no MIDI. Start the file, load the VST, it doesn't work. SD works fine in Reaper and Toontrack Solo, and given the fact that my VSTs that used to work no longer work, something seems to be wrong in Sonar. Anyone had a similar experience?

we'll need more info - are you using a 64bit OS? if so, have you downloaded and installed the latest update for SD and EZD? they require the update to work in 64bit. bitbridge does not work with toontrack, they have to be native 64bit from toontrack.

System specs please. What's changed between the time they worked and when they stopped working? In the absence of that information I will make a wild guess, I suspect you may have recently installed the 64 bit version of 8.5. Toontrack does not support bridging their 32 bit versions to a 64 bit host. If that is the case you need to download the latest versions of Superior and EZ Drummer from your Toontrack account and install the updates including the 64 bit versions. Edit - Beagle was quicker on the draw!

o boy...been down this road..i had to do a system restore to get it back to where it was normal then download ez again and the updates...just read the updates very carefully..this is critical..cause if you dont..it will rearange the dll;s in your vst folder.look closely at the update as well if i remember correctly even though i run 64 bit windows. ..read it all ..listen to those guys..they know..seriously.

32-bit, Win XP. I definitely updated SD and EZD; I think I have the latest Sonar Producer, but I'm going to check that tonight.

Nope, 32-bit, Win XP. The only thing that changed was installing Superior Drummer.

Thanks. Either System Restore or Reinstalling Sonar Producer 8.5 and all the updates may be the only options. And then whether it works or not, I'm probably going to upgrade Studio One to the Pro version.

Whoops, should've been quoting, you can tell what I was responding to! No, the scan seems to go off without a hitch, and it finds and launches the VSTs--but the sliders, drop-downs, presets, etc. are just locked and don't do anything.
