VST Softsynth that Plays Old Roland D-series Sounds?
It's a blessing to find softsynths that can load and play sounds from old synths, like the Korg Legacy VST which plays all my old M-1 and Wavestation sounds and combos, the SQ8L VST which plays old Ensoniq ESQ-1 and SQ-80 patches, Kontakt libraries for Ensoniq EPS and FM8 which plays old Yamaha DX-7 and TX-series sounds. Does anyone know of a similar VST which will import and play the old Roland D-series patches? Thanks, Bill

It's called the DS90s. I've checked mine, and it looks like all of the patches are built into the soundbank file. I don't know if it will load your patch files via its browser, or not. If you'd like me to test it for you, PM me and I'll give you my email addy, so you can email a few to me. Or put them up in the cloud and PM the URL to me. I'll give it a go. Here's what the GUI looks like:
Intel i7 3.4GHz, 16 GB RAM, 2 TB HD Win10 Home 64-bit Tascam US-16x08 Studio One 4 Pro Notion 6 Melodyne 4 Studio Acoustica 7 Guitar Pro 7 PreSonus FaderPort Nektar P6 M-Audio BX8 D2 Beyerdynamic DT 880 Pro NI K9U XLN AK, AD2 AAS VS-2, GS-2, VA-2, EP-4, CP-2, OD Toontrack SD3, EZK

Loading patches or not, it's a regular freebie and worth the download.

Not an emulation, but Deepflight from Pink Noise (22 EUR, full Kontakt 3.5 +) is a sample library of D-50 sounds.

Good one indeed, often at half price if you're not in a hurry.
