VST UGH
Did a clean install windows 7 64 and re-installed everything over period of two weeks. Good news is some nasty kinks are gone. Bad news is that all my cwp files are un-synced from the vst's. Try to open them and says it can't install them... Philharmonic, tts-1 etc. Some of those are 30+ tracks. A real pain. You would think there would just HAVE to be a better way of saving those so re installing vst's would work. John

daveny5 Did you run a VST scan? Yeah, it finds only one even though there are a bunch in the vst folder. It's just so tedious and hopeless I can't deal with it. I boot up from an older system that works to work on sonar. It feels like I have to wait till I have 10-20 hours to work on it before trying to get it to work right. I installed sonar to a D drive and directed all the vst's there. Also tried to install miraslov there but apparently wasn't successful. John

I installed sonar to a D drive and directed all the vst's there. That's a mistake. Always install Sonar to the default folder on the c: drive. You can put your project files and samples on other drives, but you should always install the program files in the default folder or you will have problems.

+1. Always install SONAR on your app drive. I made the jump to 64 bit about 2 months ago and it went quite painless. There were a few small issues, nothing earth shattering. Good luck.

Ditto and Ditto+1. Software needs to do it's normal install or things will get lost. I upgraded from Sonar 7 32 bit to W7 Sonar 8.5 64 bit and all that happened was a few warnings about plug ins might sound different.( which is true) Only a couple of projects were missing plug ins, they show in the bin but with a (plus sign?) beside them and no action. I just deleted them and added the same efx. I generally use the same settings on reverbs and delays so all was good within a few minutes. I did lose my TTS-1 saved presets which was a drag. But overall very little changed.

Yeah... guess I will uninstall it all and start over. A pain. Have to start with 8. then 8.5 then 8.5 patch and Miroslav is tedious to install also. John

John6528 Miroslav is tedious to install... Don't re-install the content, just the application. If you need the content to be on a different drive, just move it using Windows Explorer.

Uninstalled and re-installed on C drive. Still didn't work. Then realized I hadn't installed the stupid instruments which is a separate install... actually you just copy them in. Then all worked fine and dandy. Now I'm thinking I COULD install on D drive and install instruments correctly. However I still have plenty of room on my 120g ssd C drive so I'll pass on that. The problem was that I thought I remembered how to install Miroslav and just forged ahead and did it. Big mistake. I'm 71 and forget my own address sometimes. Sheesh. John
