VST Unique ID value zero

Recently I have installed Sonar X2 on a laptop running Vista.  Sonar itself works perfectly fine, but there is a serious issue with some VST plugins.  Some particular VST softsynths and effects, including most of the IK Multimedia ones and also Dimension Pro, seem to be missing their UniqueId value, which is set to zero.  Consequently, although these plugins work in new projects that were created on the loptop, the same plugins are not recognised in existing projects created elsewhere, and vice versa.

Entering the correct UniqueId values via the Registry Editor didn't cure the problem.  Neither did reinstalling the plugins.  Any ideas?

In regards to Dimension Pro - were the project actually created in Dimension LE?
If so they are separate plugins.

The best thing to do is find the patch in Dimension Pro which should have the same sounds as LE in the project (avoid installing LE if you can). Maybe the replace synth option with work (right click in the browser).

Also you might need to do this in X2.

    Cheers....

Maybe a Windows permissions issue? Try logging in as Administrator, starting up SONAR and re-running the VST scanner.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Good suggestion. If you are going to run as adminiatrator then right click the sonar icon. 'Run as admin'. Do a reset first (as per link I quoted above) I suggest before you rescan. Ta

Good call.  Adjusting the scan settings before re-scanning solved the problem.  Thanks to Alex & Bit.

By the way, I already have Sonar set to run as administrator.  Also, when I was installing everything, I launched each 3rd-party plugin setup file to run as administrator.
