VST developers will (obvioulsy) drop support for SONAR.

Another reality.

Ya, most will work, but those boutique plugs that Noel used to hack the code so they would work in SONAR. Say bye-bye.

That's another risk going forward. Hardware compatibility is another.

    Intel i7 3770K @4.4GHz, 32GB RAM, 240GB SSD System disk, 2 x 2TB and 1 x 1TB (with SSD Cache) HDD. Windows 10,  Sonar Platinum. Roland Quad Capture.

You can't possibly need any more plug-ins!

As long as my Blue Cat Patchworks continues to run in Sonar, I can use that to host any misbehaving juans, among other things.

I have that tool too. I found it to be, meh, errm not very useful in Mixbus if you try to implement it in a project that already had plugs in it.

Prolly I'm a dolt and just dinnit know how to use it properly. I imagine one day I will need to find out how to use it.

I was worried less about me than I was for those that may be trying to build their VST lib.

Well of course you have it too.

I mostly use it standalone, just as a host for a VSTi that needs a host.

But I have found that I can sometimes use it to host things inside another host that won't host something successfully itself.

That was exactly why I bought it. Mixbus has issues with retaining a tweaked value on UAD plugs **IF** you start with a preset. It can be recalled with a little finesse but that means examining every track, aux bus, bus and master bus to re-finesse any/every UAD plug in the project when you reopen the project.

That was the time I could not make it work right for me. After inserting PW on a track that had a UAD plug, crash.

TBH I have not installed the last update and I have not tried to "get it right" in Mixbus.
