VST scan hangs on boost11

It used to hang on guitar rig IIRC. Ironically, I never use either guitar rig or boost11, preferring their analog equivalents. So when I start Sonar 8.5 it scans plugins and stops on boost11. My task manager says it's unresponsive but after a few minutes Sonar opens. When I go to scan VST plugs in the plugin manager, the same thing happens. Any ideas?

How old is the PC or more specifically the hard drive? It may be the first indications of a hard drive failure or it could just be a corrupted dll. There may be some indication in the windows logs.

The computer is maybe a year old. Could be a corrupted dll but I don't grok windows logs. The hang signature is 4d81. There are 7 add'l hang signatures.
