VST vs. DXI, performance wise.

There will  be no resource difference.

Remember that the difference between the two standards is in how the DAW host communicates with the plugin, and most of that conversation happens once, during initialization. For most plugins, 99.9% of what goes on internally has nothing to do with whether it's VST or DX.

Hi. I am just wondering, when I use a plugin that is both VST and DXI, what version requires most resources of my computer? Is there any difference in what resources each version require? Ram, CPU, hard drive etc?

Everyone else has correctly said there's no (appreciable) performance difference.
 
One more thing that you might consider though.  DX support seems to be evaporating.  For instance, DXi is no longer supported by Dimension Pro.  Where this becomes an issue is when you have legacy projects that are using the DXi version and you migrate to a new computer.  In the case of Dim Pro, the latest installer only installs a VSTi version.  Couple that with the fact that the current Multisamples for Dim Pro are in .flac format instead of .wav, which makes the patches you used in the DXi version no longer work with the new VSTi.  Even if you install the DXi version of Dim Pro, the media no longer matches.
 
So...I'd say...when you have a choice...start with the VST version.  If that doesn't work for some reason...then...try the DX/DXi.

There's a Non-Cakewalk version?
 
I think Dimension Pro shipped as VSTi/DXi up through version 1.2.  At version 1.5, they dropped DX support.
