Anyone using this with Sonar? Demos sound pretty good, but I'd like to hear a recommendation from you guys first...

Does sound pretty good. The information provided on both the vstbuzz and vendor sites do not make it immediately obvious, but this is a Kontakt instrument.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Looks like it works with Kontakt player too, so the full version is not required. Also note.

With the purchase of drumasonic 2, you qualify for a cross-grade offer to the full version of KONTAKT 5 by Native Instruments

I will be passing, with the BFD 3 upgrade coming soon with its 7 new kits I will offically have too many drums.

    Intel i7 3770K @4.4GHz, 32GB RAM, 240GB SSD System disk, 2 x 2TB and 1 x 1TB (with SSD Cache) HDD. Windows 10,  Sonar Platinum. Roland Quad Capture.

I have this and drumasonic luxury. I will say that these libraries have very complex Kontakt scripting and are very flexible. I think the sounds are very good and they also work well with vdrums. I too have way too many drum VSTis , but was impressed with how far they have taken a Kontakt library. Here is a review http://www.soundonsound.c...icles/drumasonic-2.htm

Gmon - many thanks for this and the link - very interesting. The integrated groove player sounds a cool feature - is it as good as the article suggests and do you use it a lot?
Final question - is Drumasonic Luxury a different product or just the old version of Drumasonic 2
    Cheers

Luxury is a separate product with largely the same interface but with a different kit.  DS2/Luxury are good, but I don't use it all that often as BFD is my go to drum VST.  I do play it from time to time as it does sound very good and I try to rotate what I use.  For a Kontakt interface they covered a lot of ground.  Check out their youtube video, shows a lot http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtFc5KJGL5g

I wish companies like SOnic Reality would team up with drumasonic to use their interface as it really is great.
