VSTi not being scanned
Hi all. I'm trying to load my old EWQLSO (32 bit) module in X1 64 bit. I can see it in X132 bit but it just won't appear under "Insert Soft Synth" I've added the path to the dll and rescanned several times. Is there something obvious I'm missing? Cheers

Is it possible you could you have exceeded the maximum number of plugins? The first time that happened to me, it had me scratching my head. Then I cleaned out a few items - freebies and demos that I'd never actually used - re-scanned and suddenly there was my missing plugin.
All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to. My Stuff

Col, by any chance are you opening a custom plug-in layout that you haven't saved the VSTi into? I've forgotten to do that myself a few times.

Bit, Steve - no to both. This is a brand new installation on my new DAW. The only plugs so far on this system are BFD & the Cakewalk ones. I'm having huge problems not just with EWQLSO, but also IK Multimedia plugs. BFD installed like a dream, but I've been stuck now for several hours

Well I got IK Multimedia sorted out eventually. Every time i installed a T-RackS 3 single, the authorisation manager overwrote the latest version for an older version that didn't work. I had to delete all the registry keys relating to the odl one, reinstall and re-authorise. So, maybe I'm mssing the point here, but how does this Bitbridge thing work? Thr one plug i was hoping to acces in X64 is the Pantheon. I've reinstalled just that plug from 8PE and sure enough it's visible in X1d 32 bit, but not in 64 bit, even though, like the EWQLSO plug, I've added the path to the VST scanner.

Hi Colin - Bitbridge is self working in that you don't need to configure it as such. Have you checked re-scan existing plugins & re-scan failed plugins in the options box? It's possible that some plugs won't work under bitbridge but that shouldn't stop them registering. Jbridge is also worth a look for troublesome plugs. T-racks stuff should work okay though, I use several of those myself, but they are sensitive to where they're installed for registration purposes. I installed mine on a different drive on the same machine and had to re-authorise.

Hi Karl. I'm glad to say that T-RackS are visible on both platforms and behave as expected. So far my only outstanding problems are the Pantheon and EWQLSO (Kompact version) But I'm sure this isn't everything - I've a long day ahead of me.

I've just re-scanned existing plugins & failed plugins and they still don't show up. I'm sure it's me, there's something I'm missing somewhere. The wife agrees

If you are using the Play version of EWQLSO download the latest update and install the 64bit version. That should function much better than the bitbridged version anyway. It will install under Program Files as opposed to Program Files (x86). Also make sure that you try the stand alone version first to ensure it is activated.

Col, there is a 64bit version of Pantheon too, if that helps.

I'll be interested to see what the problem turns out to be Col. I have the exact same problem with Cake's 'Soundstage' VST. It just will not scan (either in 32bit or 64bit).
