V-Studio 20 used with 2 computers?

Hello,

I run Sonar Pro 8.5 on both my studio desktop and location recording laptop. I need an interface that will interact the same way between both systems. The laptop is used to record guitar takes and then import them to my studio desktop. I would like to record the guitar dry on my laptop while monitoring through the boss effects. I would then like to import the dry tracks into my studio desktop and play them with the boss effects inserted as you would a plugin. My laptop is connected to the web but my studio desktop is not.

My questions are:

1. Can you use Studio V20 on two computers?

2. Can the boss effects be used in a Sonar Pro 8.5 project the same way as a VST plugin?

3. Do you need to be connected to the web to authorize the boss effects?

4. Can you record the mic and guitar input at the same time?

Thanks for your help,

Paul

    yes to all your questions.

#1just install the drivers on both computers and the editor also..editor has the cosm effects.
#2 you can but dont have to use the effects in sonar 8/5 i use it in x1 but it will work on 8.5.theres a download patch availble on the site.
#3 im not sure about regestering the editor i think its omly guitar tracks that needs to be regestered. easily use a flash drive to transfer the regestration/copy-paste it.
#4 you can record the guitar and mike at the same time easily..also has phantom power.

    Thanks for the response Charlie.

One question... do you insert a boss effect in the fx bin of a track? Or do you open the editor and point it to the track somehow? I'm sure it integrates well with Sonar but I would like to understand this better.

    Thanks again,

this is something i need to research more but the manual states there is a re-amp feature that lets you either record effect of boss direct to track or..or..you can add the effect later by assigning the unprocessed sound of the guitar to the boss cosm..like a vst in way..except the track will be pointed towards the boss effect(the cosm)ive played with it a little and it works both ways but i havent tryed it on multiple tracks..just one..the software that comes with it..guitar tracks.you supposely can..but i dont need that software..that would be like taking a step backwards..pfff..
