V-Vocal Direct Show problem in Win7 64 bit

I'll save the long back-story...but I just loaded 8.5 (plus all the updates) into Win7 64 bit for the first time ever.  V-Vocal won't even load when I right click and try to use it on a clip.  I get some sort of Direct Show blurb.

Known problem with a know fix?

Thanks guys.

The actual text of the "DirectX blurb" would probably be helpful. Are you running the 32-bit or the 64-bit version of SONAR?

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

I was too lazy to restart the machine to get better info...so I did this morning:

"DirectShow Error (0x8004022a)  This filter does not support the current audio format.  It may require a different number of channels (e.g., stereo instead of mono) or a different sample rate."

Win7 64 Bit.  Sonar 8.5 64 Bit.  All things 64 bit.  Original tracks were recorded in Sonar 5.xx at 24/96.

I just figured out what was causing the problem.  If the Cakewalk Compressor/Gate is in the FX bin, even if it's not activated, V-Vocal won't work.

    What the hell is that??
