V-Vocal is essential for me

Hi,

Since it was introduced many years ago, almost every project that I worked on (hundreds) included the use of V-Vocal. I find it an excellent tool for pitch but especially timing editing of vocals. I've tried Melodyne as well but find not nearly as easy to work with. The results sound fine but the way it works is not to my liking. It is harder to correct timing, vibrato and pitch as well.

The only reason I did not upgrade beyond X2 is the lack of V-Vocal in X3. I know it still works somehow but I'd like the full integration as it was. I'm afraid of not being able to load and re-edit all my many old projects.
I have hundreds of projects that I could no longer load if V-Vocal disappeared.

So, I plead for the re-inclusion of V-Vocal. Pleeease. :-)
V-Vocal was the main reason why I never switched to any appealing competitive product.

Thanks,
Jaye

As far as I know V Vocal still works. Some shortcut keys do not work because of future usage elsewhere.(In X4?)
In X3 you have the choice of V Vocal or Melodyne.
This shouldnt stop you from creating. If you keep  the X2 program for your older files that you want to work on and upgrade to X3 for IMHO the most stable DAW that Sonar came out with you will have the best of both worlds.

If you have X2 or earlier installed, you'll still be able to use V-Vocal inside X3 (via the Region FX menu, same as Melodyne).

Keep in mind that Melodyne Essential is not the proper replacement for V-Vocal. You need Editor, or Assistant at the very least, as Essential lacks a lot of features that V-Vocal can do with ease.

I kept V-Vocal around for the first few months after installing X3, but since I upgraded to Editor, I haven't used it. Melodyne Editor is so much smoother sounding and the way it works is intuitive to me (though I miss the pencil tool sometimes).

If you upgrade to X3, you can use V-Vocal for deep editing and Essential for natural sounding auto-correction or basic fixes.  Certainly best of both worlds!

V-vocal actually works better in X3 than it ever did, so if that's your only reason, then don't let that stop you. I don't think it likely that it will be included again, but if you already have it, there is no problem. I did the upgrade to Melodyne Editor which is much better than the included version, but I agree that there are still some things that VV does better. I'm happy to have both tools at my disposal.

You can do a custom install with the 1st X-2 disk and uncheck everything except pitch. In X-3  V Vocal will be listed with Melodyne. Select create region from V Vocal. That way you don't have to install X-2

I agree - it's more stable.
