V-Vocal v. Antares AutoTune

I received an email offer from Cakewalk for Antares Auto-Tune EFX vocal pitch correction software.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't V-Vocal supposed to be pitch correction software?  What does Antares Auto_Tune EFX have that V-Vocal does not?

This is a bit of a moot point by now because the offer ends in a couple of hours and I'm not about to pony up $80 plus the cost of a hardware key for something I know little about.  However, offers like this often pop up again, so I would like to make a more informed decision if it should.

    Antares is better.

V-vocal works but.......... can be glitchy for some users in some situations. Lots of folks on here use it - then bounce it to audio - then delete it  -because.... at times when there is too many instances of V vocal open  can cause problems like crashes and freeze - I think there is a current big being worked out now in x1 with it

V-vocal can work and usually is fine

Antares works and to my ears sounds better - the inserted phoney tone that hides the pitch problem is less phony sounding when used right -  but understand.... can be used t make it sound all robot for house music too

The Antares EFX version is not the full blown product some think of when they think of Auto Tune.

It's a paired down version of the big version;  but still useful

"Inserted phony tone"--?  No pitch correction program inserts a phony tone - it shifts the recording up or down, and how well it does that complex change in the audio is what we judge a program by.  But none of them are "hiding" a pitch problem - they're shifting the sound to a different pitch.

Did they fix it yet so it works completely in a 64bit environment?

they all sound like they insert a tone to me - but whatever floats your boat  - either way it sounds like crap
