"Valid through" date is confusing for Australian users of Sonar
In my About box, the "Valid through" displays as 7/8/2015 due to the North American date format. In Australia, this is interpreted as 7 August 2015 which may cause confusion for some users. Can this be changed so that the month is displayed as words instead of a number. In my example, the "Valid through" date would display as 8 July 2015 instead. This should not be do difficult to implement.

Being upside down can be a hassle for us antipodeans. Come up against this issue all the time on the net and always have to go through the mental gymnastics of juggling the numbers just to make you guys (Northern Hemispherians) happy.

So anyone running into this - can you let me know what you have set for date/time format in windows?
You can check this in Control Panel > Region then by selecting the 'Formats' tab.

Actually? The date display DOES respect your OS region settings, also known as the locale.
Maybe you didn't set that?
Control Panel -> Region.
Change the Short date to whatever you want.
For example I went from 7/1/2015 to 01-Jul-15 without any issue and no code change in SONAR was required.

Windows 8.1. Germal locale. Default settings. Region: ... Date (short): TT.MM.JJJJ ... Example: Date (short): 02.07.2015 Clock (right lower corder): 02.07.2015 Sonar (not the newest update, so 21.4.0.30): Valid through: 1/23/2016 I have "English" as CCC setting. EDIT: I have not tried to change my locale, but even if that magically will work, Sonar is the only program on my computer which show the date in US format.

On my Windows 7 32bit system here are my long and short date formats (My Locale is set to Australia) Note: These have been intentionally set this way by me as this produces my desired date format when listing files in Windows explorer and in other software. Short Date: ddd, d MMM yyyy Long date: dddd, d MMMM yyyy FYI: In my Cakewalk About box my "Valid through" date says 8/7/2015 (I know this means August 7 2015)

There is a workaround. Keith was confident that is an operator failure... I find the attitude of the replay is not acceptable, even in case that is an operator failure (and I do not want to use the word which really describe that reply since that is not an operator failure). In the regional settings, change region to US. Apply. Change the short date format. Apply. Change the region back to the system one.

Yep Sonar is the only major program I have that doesn't respect Locale setting in Windows.
