Very Basic Session Drummer Question

Newbie needs help please!  Have read the X1 users manual and searched on this forum and experimented.  I need direction on the initial set up of SD3.  Already set up a SD3 Synth track and a dedicated midi track.  How do I configure the inputs and outputs (and drum map?) of these tracks to point ultimately to the Master bus.   Thanks.  Larry

Go to this link http://www.cakewalk.com/C...NARU.aspx/Master-Class and watch Drum Production 1 and 2. It's Seth going through a bunch of set up stuff and it helped me immensely. I'm actually messing around with SD3 right at the moment and I knew jack about this stuff before watching that. Have fun.

You have the option, when you insert a synth, to allow Sonar to configure the inputs and outputs for you.  Then ofcourse, on Session Drummer, you just go to the mixer, and route the outputs, per corresponding channel on Sonar's Virtual Mixing Desk.

I agree with Beepster though..  Start reading the Cakewalk Blog...   And if you are a newbie, newbie..  It probably doesn't hurt to by a video tutorial off the Cakewalk Shop.

I have also been getting to grips with SD3, and the principle of routing various elements of a drum synth to different tracks. I'll be honest here, and admit that, even though I've been using Battery since V2, I didn't realise you could do this, so learning about SD3 has been great for me, because I now know how to separate various pieces of the drum kit to different tracks, and, more importantly, I have discovered how to do that with Battery now, and, as I picked up BFD Eco the other day, I am able to do the same with that. So I'm really pleased with my self lol.

Another great tip, that I have picked up from watching the Cake guys doing their stuff on Youtube, is that once you have a track set-up created as you like it, stick the tracks in a track folder and then export a Track Template. Once you have done that, in your new project, you just drag in that Track Template and voilà! your new project now has a ready to go folder and track combo :^)
