Rerender your file to be Mpeg1 or AVI.  Those seem to be the only sure fire formats that work with sonar.

A lot of times what Sonar (and any other program for that matter) can and cannot import is regulated by codecs you have installed on your machine that have nothing directly to do with Sonar.  Installing a massive codec pack will probably increase the number of possible files you can import, but will also increase your likelihood of getting a virus.  Your other computer probably has more codecs installed.  Try wmv.  That seems to work  consistently.

Are you using 32 or 64-bit Sonar? If 32-bit, then you need to have Quicktime installed in order to load .mp4 files. If 64-bit, then there is no Quicktime so Sonar can't load .mp4 files.

Video files consist of a container which is reflected in the extension: .avi, .mp4, .wmv, etc. And they consist of a codec, which is how the video is stored inside the container. Just saying "render your file to .avi" isn't very useful advice, since it all depends on the codec inside the .avi file.

In my tests, a .avi file with the mjpeg codec works best in either 32 or 64 bit Sonar. Followed by .avi with mpeg-4 part 2 codec aka mpeg4, aka xvid and a few other names. .avi with DV codec works well. And .wmv of any Windows Media codec works pretty well.

Yes. After several tests the wmv was the only one that worked.

Thank You for your time and advices.
