Video, X1 and help from forum member - just Ducky

Hi,
Took my last tune and reworked it with some help from Herb (Guitar  Hacker). Herb pitch corrected the lead vocal, gave it some pop and helped sort out the boomy bass sound. A bit of boominess is back on the video but I am really pleased with the result. Thanks Herb!
I know some of you have already heard this, but the video adds a nice context to it all. Check it out if you have some time.

Hey Frank - Thanks for checking it out. I used Cyberlink Power Director - real inexpensive and intuitve enough that I didn't read anything - just put the video together. Text is placed in relation to the image clips - you can specify the duration. I was just sort of winging it - picked photos I liked, placed them where Iwanted them (for the most part) and added the text. I am sure the software can do very complicated things - I just wanted to try it out and it turned out kind of nice.

Thanks Mike - a learning experience on many levels and lots of fun. I was surprised at how much life it added to the tune. Thanks for the positive feeedback.

I use a program called Honestech Video Editor 8.0 that I bought for $40 or so at a computer store to do my video work.... which isn't much.

Video is like audio. If you take the time to learn the program and how to do the edits and fades and all the stuff that makes a video interesting, it will look pretty good. My problem is I'm more focused on the audio and the video ends up as an after thought.....

    Anyway... I really like this.

Hey Manny, along the lines of what Herb mentioned with the possibility of viral and all that.

If I were you I'd consider making someone at Harpo Production aware of this.

Perhaps first secure a deal with Youtube for sharing advertising revenue... and then cross your fingers and hope that someone like Oprah blogs about how powerful the message you are sharing is.

    I'm not kidding.

    all the best,

One of your many masterpieces is now on the launching pad.  Outstanding song (and video is right there with it).  I can think of about 30 people right now that i can send it to who will reap needed healing from it.
Herb did a fine job remastering.

    Such a beautiful song.

    Hey Manny
I remember this tune and how impressed I was with the performance and production. This song really is a gem when it comes to your lyrics and arrangement. Production reminds me of a piece that would of been produced by the great T Bone Burnett.  What a perfect voice for the lead vocal. Video really adds to the story line. EXCELLENT piece!

Hey – thanks to all that took the time to take a look/listen and comment.

Mike/ Herb – I love your optimistic outlook – I do agree that the message is strong and the subject is certainly in the public eye at the moment. Hey, you never know and thanks for the positive energy. I think I am likely to go viral way before the video.

Tim – yeah, the music, lyrics and for better or worse the playing is me. Rorie was the hired gun (she’s great!). And all the gray becomes a blue . . . I like that also, thanks for noticing.

Rick – thanks for checking it out yet again. Herb really brought the vocals out  - it made a big difference. I’d be thrilled to hear it made one person feel a bit better. Music can be powerful medicine.

Guitarpima, Kev, Robby – thanks for your time, energy and kind words!

Manny, I found this on the second page.  I'm so glad I looked.  A song for all time.  It started in the Garden of Edenand will go as long as there are people on earth.  Your song addresses the problem very nicely.  The video really enhances it.  Made me tear up in a few spots.  I hope somehow you can get this song out into publication.  Just a wonderful effort!

    Hey Warren,

Thanks for checking it out and for the kind words. Yeah, at our core, people aren’t much different now than they were way back when it all started. I’ll hold back and check myself – no waxing philosophical here and simply say I am glad that you found this moving at times. Can’t get a better comment than that!

Love this tune! It's great. Should be on some soundtrack at the very least, but honestly, could be so much more than just a soundtrack. Love it just the way it is. No crits.

    Hi, Manny,

Fantastic job on both the wonderful song and the great video!  The songwriting is excellent, the message is inspirational, and it sounds like Herb also did a nice job helping out with the pro sounding mix.

    Really nice work!

Robby – thanks again, although I am not quite sure who THE Manny is. I'm just one of many.

Radio – thanks for listening and taking the time to comment. – I agree, Rorie did a great job and Herb made sure she was heard.

Rhynosynth – hey, you’ve got to try new things. Sometimes it works out (sometimes it sure doesn't). Thanks for the kind words.

Darin – yeah, I’d love to see it move around and get heard, odds are slim but thanks so much!
Bob – thanks – a message song – my first I guess and I enjoyed putting observations into a tune. It was great getting help from a forum member – one more reason to stay involved here!
