Video links explaining the prv?
Does anyone have a link explaining this better? I have hihats that I want to turn down the whole roll at once. I can't figure it out. I can't get the inline paino roll on the track to come on either. I went into clips and made a velocity automation for a work around, but then found out I can't freeze the track. I finally just bounced it down to an audio track. I hate to keep asking questions but I can't find the video Seth and Brandon made explaining the changes in prv. Thanks

The video links are on cake tv live and I believe on you tube under Sonar.

Not a link but an explanation........ - In the PRV click on the hi-hat note in the keyboard pane to the left. That will select all hi-hat notes.
- Move the cursor over any one of the selected hi hat notes, about midway along and just above (if a note) or just above if using a drum map. The cursor should turned to a stepped bar indicator.
- Once that happens click and drag up or down to raise or lower velocity respectively.

In addition to Karl's suggestion....if you have more than one "note" of hi-hats, such as open, closed, petaled, etc., ... you can CTRL click the notes in the keyboard pane and it will select all of those notes too.

This isn't working for me. I'm left clicking on the key (on the keyboard) and moving the mouse to the note and nothing happens. I've tried ctrl and left click and nothing happens. I have been able to select the clip, in the track, and use the step sequencer to change velocity, but I would like to fiqure this out. I should be able to use the inline PRV in the track too, but can't get that to work either. When I click on the key, shouldn't the color change to show something has been selected? Because I see no sign of it. Thanks

To get to the inline PRV you need to use the Event Filter on the track, which probably reads "clips". Click and select "notes"

I'm not sure what's going on but it should be relatively straight forward.

Well I know it's something I'm not doing. I've had X2 since it came out and have had very few problems. I don't use midi much (mainly on drums) and have been trying to improve my knowledge on some of the editing advantages Sonar has. I picked this feature to learn next so that's what I'm working on. Thanks for your help...when I get home I'll double check everything I'm doing and get back to you.

I've knocked up a very quick video to show you how it should work although I suspect there's something going on with your system that is stopping it. Excuse the sound it was recorded on my laptop. Video here

Make sure you hover over one of the notes long enough for the cursor icon to change - it may not be immediate.

Thanks Karl, that's more than I would ask anyone to do. I think the problem is the hihat notes are so small. I can draw in a note and it works just like your video shows, but with Ez drummer the notes are so small I can't tell if they chage colours. I know when I put the mouse arrow on top of the note it never shows the little steps icon at all. It does with the note I draw in and make bigger. Hmmm strange. I do have the inline prv coming on now..thanks to Bristol_Jonesy for that.
