Thanks guys but Directory Manager (or LIbrary Manager, whichever it is) shows the folders it scans on start up and DS is right there next to the Special Editions and other VSL libraries. I did PC restart and a VSL rescan a couple of times.
Everything looks good everywhere except in the player.
Someone on the VSL forum said there is some kind of glitch with the Win 7 install and recommended some things to try. If I figure that out, I will report back.
FYI, I have lots of VSL stuff (including solo, orchestral, and chamber strings) and Hollywood Strings. I find VSL way easier to use than Hollywood and 10x easier on my system. (Hollywood will barely run even though I have what most would call a powerful system.) I am looking forward to the entire Dimension Strings library. I hope I can get this working and that the other sections will be out soon. I took advantage of that deal in which you buy the violins and then get the other sections as they are available.
