Viking Teeth
I am an American of Scandinavian decent (many generations removed) and when I was growing up in suburban NJ my father had Viking ships on shelves and hanging on the walls throughout the house. My impression was that the Vikings were a fearsome lot … but, I guess things aren’t always what they seem as per this quote from an article on Viking remains found in Dorset, England: “Or they may have come upon the idea to file their teeth simply because it was the next logical step after hair care and ironing. Hi Quantum, Funny, I'm almost the same situation as you. Scandinavian parents and I grew up in old NJ. It seems that the Vikings were pretty fearsome for a while, but then they started to become traders when they ran out of places to pillage. I guess they eventually settled down after a while and started having work done on their grills. I'll have to take a closer look at that. Thanks for the info and the humor of it, Jan
