Virtual guitar software for power pop / jangle pop / indie rock?

Anyone know of virtual guitar software (e.g. RealStrat, Electri6ity) that can create tracks that sound convincingly like the guitars on this?

Thanks.

The rhythm guitar in that piece is an electric 12-string. RealStrat, Electri6ity or OTS EEG and similar libraries won't cut it.

The closest thing I have in my collection is a Rickenbacker 12 library (bridge pickup) that's in the Electric Guitar Kapsule for the Infinite Player. There is also a reasonable facsimile available (for Kontakt) from Wavesfactory. Both of these suggestions are only relevant if you have the full version of Kontakt.

If you're looking for the best guitar sample library on the market, in terms of results you get due to both the sample detail and programming, the prize easily goes to Orange Tree Samples Evolution Electric Guitar - Strawberry. It's the only guitar library I know of that's actually making it to final production in a good deal of television shows these days. Here's the URL: http://www.orangetreesamples.com/evolution-electric-guitar-strawberry

Just to be transparent, I've advised Orange Tree Samples, including on the initial ideas and naming for Evolution Electric and Acoustic Guitar. That said, I've been using guitar sample libraries since the 1980s and own KONTAKT guitar sample libraries from pretty much all the high end KONTAKT developers as well as a number of VSTs. Jesus over at Waves Factory has some great deals on libraries -- his Tea Towel Drum library (which I own) is easily one of the biggest steals of any quality drum sample libraries on the market. I think it's like $10 or $15 USD. But if you're looking for an electric (or acoustic) guitar sample library that sounds incredibly realistic, Evolution Electric - Strawberry is a must.  Judge with your own ears:

    I'm a fan of OTS, too. But that's a 6-string guitar, Peter.

@bitflipper Yep, you're right. Sorry about that. I wrote my post late last night and just realized that I missed your post noting that his linked audio file used a 12 string electric guitar. I was mainly looking at the other libraries califran mentioned. '

Besides Waves Factory, I'm pretty certain that there's a 12 string electric in East West's Fab Four. Otherwise, I don't know of another 12 string electric guitar sample library made in the last 10 yrs (I'm pretty sure that I have a Sonic Implants 12 String Electric Guitar Soundfont from 10+ yrs ago!).

Time for you to talk to Greg, then, since you have his ear. A Rick 12 would be a great follow-up to the Rick currently in development.

I'd love to sample 12 string electric and acoustic guitars--it's just a matter of time in terms of when I can make those libraries.

Well, get busy then Greg! You don't have a real life, do you? Surely there are some hours in your day that you're currently frittering away on family, eating, sleeping and stuff.

Hah, all frittering away of time has been going to the Rickenbacker bass library, Evolution Rosewood Grand update (adds separate mic positions), and flute collection library. That and moving to a new office/studio. 12 string guitars would be awesome though, especially considering how rarely they're sampled. The 12 string Rickenbacker guitar is definitely an iconic tone!
