Vista SP2 RTM Is Here!

Although it's not available for download via Windows Update, yet. It has been leaked and is available via download on Bit Torrents.

It has been reported that Vista X64 SP2 RC has made Vista X64 more stable than any version of XP, or Vista 32, for DAW use. See this thread:

http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.asp?m=1655242&mpage=1?

This is not the RC I'm reporting here, but the final version. I have downloaded it, and I'm about to install.

If you would like to get it before it's available via Windows update go to your favorite bit torrent search engine and search for it.

Here's a link to a recent article explaining how to identify that you're downloading the real deal:

You're installing an OS you downloaded through a torrent from who knows where? That's insane...

I think he is referring to the service pack, not the OS.

But if you're not downloading it from MS, how do you know no one messed with it?

    I'm reffering to SP2.

If you're freaking out, just wait for it to be available on Windows Update.

If this service pack fixed something critical that I needed I would download it off spyware infested torrent sites but since everything works smoothly for me I'll just wait for the windows update.

LOL I hear you, on that one.

I made this post for interested users. I can understand if some users have concerns that would prevent them from downloading this service pack using torrents, however this announcement is for the hardcore people who like to stay right on top of things like this. Like me. LOL

I heard SP2 makes some improvements to the audio system.
Hopefully it will stop my pops and clicks with Echo wdm drivers.

FYI, they pushed out the new windows update bits that are needed to eventually upgrade to SP2. I got that update earlier this week via windows update, so the real deal should be on it's way shortly.
