Vocal Effect on Timbaland's remix of "Apologize"?

I'm assuming there's some doubling going on there...but I wonder if anyone else has any insight about what went into making the vocals on Timbaland's remix of One Republic's "Apologize" sound the way they do.

Something about it sounds very nostalgic to me and I would love to be able to recreate it on my own stuff.

    Ivenever heard the song before, so im listening now on the old Tube.

    To me it sounds like a simple delay effect, possibly a delay that modulates. Just try temp-syncing a delay to about a quarter note, and lower its volume to about 20-30 per cent and have just one, or maybe two repeates. On the delya tail try inserting some chorus or phaser and see what the nresults are.

    Btw, someone else will probably come along and prove me wrong, and say something that might actually be of use to you
