Vocal track effects

am trying to apply a delay effect to one specific part of a vocal audio track.  I can apply the effects to the whole track but can not figure out how to highlight part of the track and apply an additional delay effect to just one part of the vocal track.  Can anyone help me figure this out?  As always, many thanks for sharing your expertise.

create a bus, put the delay in the bus FX bin. Then create a Send from your Vocal track to the Delay Bus.  Put a Send Volume envelope on the Vocal Track, and just raise it where you want the delay.  Make sure it's at '0' where you don't want it.

make a separate clip out of that part you want apply the delay. Every clip has an fx bin that you can use for that very reasion.

If it were me I would do it the way Slugbaby suggests. That way you can always tweak the delay settings if you want. Another advantage to that method is that you can route the delayed signal through other processing, such as compression or reverb.

You can split and apply a clip effect.

You can automate the effect - volume up for the phrase.

You can put it on a bus and use automation.

You can clip phrases out into another track and use track effects.

I'm sure there are other ways to do it if I thought about it.  Pick which one seems likliest to you and go with it.

I'd go with the split clip and use the Clip Fx bin.

    But that's just me.

If the clip has had v-vocal applied to it, you'll need to bounce this down before the clip can be split
