Vocal won't record, then error symbol appears in track! Any ideas?
Anybody know what the little red symbol means in the top left corner of the track here?
Cakewalk error
I was trying to record a vocal part using a new set-up: AKG C3000B condensor mic, into a Behringer MIC2200 tube preamp, but it won't record. The level meters suggest that something is going into my Cakewalk (Sonar 4 Producer Edition), but it's not recording (hence the error symbol, I guess).
Any suggestions what's going on here?

That's the "mute" symbol. To unmute, select the clip and type 'Q' on your keyboard. (Or use the "mute" tool.)
How did it get muted?
Loop recording
mutes previous takes. Looking at the baby clip below the muted clip suggests you were using loop record.

There is a setting in options > global to disable that setting (mute previous take)
