Voice of Gaia: Strawberry | SoundIron

Voice of Gaia: Strawberry is the next in our series of professional quality and bar-setting “Voices of” vocal libraries. This powerful 5.5 GB collection features a wide range of fully playable chromatic content along with emotionally charged melodic phrases to provide you with as much creative freedom, expressive power and work-flow flexibility as possible.
We recorded our performer in a close, totally dry studio environment with state-of-the-art microphones and preamps to capture every subtle nuance. We then spent countless hours carefully prepping and editing each sample and hand-programming each element into an unrivaled performance interface that delivers both efficiency and control. Improvements to our Phrase Sequencer system allows users to set per-step start, end and pitch transposition options to squeeze every last bit of creativity and flexibility out of the over 2500 melodic phrases we captured. We’ve also included our comprehensive FX Rack panel, with multi-effects, compression, EQ, amp/speaker simulation and convolution reverb, featuring dozens of our most popular custom recorded rooms, halls, cathedrals and otherworldly fx impulses easily available right through the interface. Strawberry brings together superior programming, performance, quality and living, breathing soul into an unprecedented solo vocal solution that you will not find matched anywhere else!

About Linda Strawberry: Linda Strawberry is a Los Angeles based vocalist and songwriter. has worked as an assistant producer / engineer for Bjorn Thorsrud, Alan Moulder, and Bon Harris, working on records for Marianne Faithfull, Smashing Pumpkins, The Dandy Warhols, and Zwan. During this time she sang the lead on “I Know My Redeemer Lives” for Especially for Youth and did a duet with David Coverdale of Whitesnake on his song “Wherever You May Go”. She also collaborated with Billy Corgan on the soundtrack to the movie ‘Spun’, singing the lead on the version of ‘Love to Love’ from that soundtrack.

The only problem with these sort of collections is that you can probably only ever get away with using them once - if you tried to use them more than that I'm sure it would just be so obvious - unless of course they were used in a more background role as opposed to what Soundiron have tried to showcase in their demos.
I know there is a lot of work that goes into them, but this seems to have to make the manufactures sell at a high price, for something you might not be able to use much - bit of a viscous circle sort of thing - if it was much much cheaper, I suppose I might consider it for the odd usage, but at Us$120 I won't be buying!

Tools for the toolbox but depends on who's using them.
I'm not particularly interested in these but their libs are excellent.

Worth the price but get them on sale.
I'd suggest checking out their micro.
(I see it's now $19.99, maybe too much. It used to be around $7.00)

I have the Mars and Venus Choirs. Excellent stuff, but very pricey for sure.

There is one library I am really waiting on. Since I have one degree of separation from the boys at Soundiron I'm not at liberty to say what it is (and NO, I did not participate in said upcoming library ).

I have Olympus Elements and Voice of Rapture: Soprano. I think you are right concerning the phrases, however the more abstract vowel sustains etc. are very usable as are those where you can step through different vowels. I really like The "true legato" NKIs on Soprano.

I think the phrases would be most use to people producing soundtracks for video games.

I listened to the demos of Voice of Gaia: Strawberry and sorry I thought they sounded really poor.  The music sounded okay just the sound of Strawberry samples or the way they played the samples sounded poor.  repetitive samples used in each demo track made me think there wasn't much to this library.

Is it out already, O Bapu Juan?
Meanwhile, got this Strawberry library and absolutely adore her voice.

Man, Impaled sure have made their mark! It's really cool that he is in a library like this. Sounds pretty cool, although I'd never use it myself. All my friends are death and black metal singers
