Volume Output issue

Hello, i have an issue with the Volume output metering with X1 Producer and my M-Audio Audiophile 192 sound card on windows 7.

I am new to Sonar x1 however I just want to state that i'm an experienced audio user and I have made sure that i haven't routed anything through busses incorrectly or that my windows mixer isn't set to something silly so we can rule out some of the more obvious suggestions.  I also want to add that this issue does not arise in other DAW programs - just Sonar.

here is the issue:  say my mixer indicates im playing back a file which peaks at -6db, where the master also states -6 - the concern is with my overall volume output which translates on my M-Audio Audiophile 192 sound card control panel at around -30db

how do I bring the volume level so my M-Audio control panel also indicates -6db?
