Volume drops when I render to .wav

The song plays nice and loud in Sonar 5, but when I render to .wav or even to .mp3 and then play in Windows Media Player the volume drops sifnificantly. All the crispness and the punch simply disappers. But when I import this file back into Sonar the volume is nice and loud again.

I don't get it, the volume level on Windows Media player is at full, and all the other Wav files I play are nice and loud on WMP. The wave setting on my sound card (Sound Blaster Xtreme Audio) is at 50 %.

Please, please can someone explain this in simple English? I really feel lost when people use words like "output bus." Please help!

Im guessing that you need to look into the SB's mixer and tweak some settings. do some experimenting. also what are your export settings set at??

Set your SB card to full volume. The volume on MS Media Player is independent from the main sound card volume. That should fix it.

You said to set the SB volume to full. Do you mean set the wav playback volume on the soundcard to full or to set the soundcard mater volume to full?

    Thanks again.
