7. In the trigger's surround panner, make sure you get the numbers next to Ls and Rs to 0.0. Do this by setting the correct Width in the panner. I set my width to 240.5 (I couldn't hit 240 :-)
If you hold down the shift key while you move the mouse, the numbers will increment slowly, and you can get exactly the precision you need.
Thanks for your very thorough description of how this works. I've been using a similar approach to sidechaining in S6 PE for awhile, but I've had to bounce the sidechained track out of Sonar and import it back in again to mix, because I get weird stuff when I route the Surround buss to my master buss and mix it down to stereo with the rest of the mix. It looks like your setup solves that problem.
