WARNING!!!! Read before using Command Center
something called "Command Center". Take note before using it: (1) it will not ask or warn about where to install , everything goes to C drive (2) it will NOT provide an Uninstall for installed programs. (3) if you have to uninstall, you are likely to lose parts of older working installation

You Sir need to read threads before posting. http://forum.cakewalk.com...spx?m=3191051&fp=2And there are loads of other threads kicking around. Do we really need yet another thread on this? Please edit out your derogitary comment, it is not appropriate for these forums. There are better ways of putting things.

There is also google... I left an answer on your duplicate thread (for uninstalling).
Thanks for editing your post.

Further warning: the uninstall of Platinum may affect installed vsts for an existing sonar x3 producer installation.

Removing any version of SONAR can result in removal of shared items. Uninstalling a newer version will remove many more items because the newer installer knows it installed them. This has always been the case.

Ok at 3 hours and counting: the install for Sonar Platinum, downloaded directly, works just fine. Politely asks where to put itself, picks up preferences from earlier installs.

is this also true of the demo (when it appears)? if i install the demo, and then uninstall it, it will break my existing sonar install?

Good question, and perhaps one that support could answer. Seems quite possible that cakewalk will fix the command center failures before providing a demo, though. Last time I had a program insist on installing in a certain place was 1980s (90s?), windows 3.1

Did you try the settings cog on the Command centre that seems to me to pretty much let me install plugins where I want and even to decide where the installation programs are stored. Am I missing something about the install process? Probably.

Am I missing something about the install process? Probably. That is only for VST locations and where to download the installers to. It doesn't give you an option to specify the locations where the products will be installed to, so everything gets installed to the C drive.
