Mine ended up in C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves\ various folders underneath that depending on whether it's an app type thing like the standalone synths Element and Codex, GTR etc Why (x86) ? don't know, but all works dandy

The plugins are installed in a central folder under the waves folder under either the Program Files or Program Files (86) folders.
The wave shell ***.dll etc are installed in the locations you have allocated for VST 32 & 64 bit, VST3 32 & 64, Waves RTAS and AAX 32 & 64 bit, so you could have as many as 6 or 7 waves shells.

Yea I found the program files x86/Waves folder and scanned that now I will go back and look for those waveshell dlls but the Waves Central never asked me for vst locations, I think they are located in the aforementioned x86 location , or in a common or app data location. , do remember seeing several 9.x versions of waveshell existing on my system I. that was one of the issues before I got everything to work, I would receive an error looking for the waveshell_x64 9.3 folder, obvious it wasnt updated or removed automatically.

You don't need to scan x86\Waves, you only need to scan where the WaveShellxxx.dll files are located. My shells are in the same folder as all other vst(s). In fact, I moved the shells to the folder structure I want to use. C:\ProgramFiles\Common Files\vstplugins\Waves C:\ProgramFiles\Common Files\vst3\Waves I don't bother installing the 32bit versions.

Just out of curiosity Mudgel, where did your plugins get installed to, PF or PF (x86), I don't use 32bit anything if I can help it, was a bit confused why they were installed to (x86), makes no difference really, everything works as always, just curious.

Zo, I haven't found a way in WC to do a custom install. The instructions, both in WC and on Waves website is pretty sketchy at best. I finally had everything working, then disconnected my DAW from the internet. Never thought anything of it, until I tried opening another instance of a Wave plug - CRASHED Sonar! I finally figured out what happened; my Waves licenses were still in the cloud. So I opened WC and after much head scratching, found out that I needed to transfer the licenses to my system. I did that, but the plugs STILL won't open in Sonar. WTH!!! I'm starting to get fed up with this Waves crapola .....

WC does not stand for Waves Central, it indeed means Wave CRAPOLA you know as far as ILOK, lots of hate for it, but I never had issues with mine, and the waves licensing with the old WOLI
