WHY CAN'T SONER JUST PUT FILES WHERE I TELL THEM TO GO???

This needs to be fixed ASAP.  It keeps trying to put files on my c drive, but guess what there is no room because it's just a boot drive.

Sonar x1 failed the install because of this.

I don't want ANY files in ANY folders except the ones I specify.  Why is this hard???

/end rant

Talk to Bill Gates.  Cakewalk abides by his rules.

you did an advanced install ? a lot of the things (e.g. multi samples) can be shifted to D drive etc with a few alterations here / there AFTER you did the install.

I would like cakewalk to implement a "shared" folder for some things.. e.g. the RX2's I use.. I use a number of things and would be nice if there was a shared folder that I could use for everything.. (and a sub folder off for the rx2's)

Yes, I always do an advanced install, AND check carefully to see where files are going.

And yet files still show up in other places.

I did finally get X1 installed after having to delete a bunch of stuff (which I'm sure will cause other problems later)

I finally stopped fighting Mr. Gates by using the boot drive excercise.  I just got two huge hard drives and let things go where they want.

I refuse.  I like my files to actually be organized, and for me to know where things are.   Plus it's awefully nice if you do a fresh install to not lose all your files.  (yes I have backups, but again, it's easier to backup if you know where everything is in one place)

You still have to reinstall all of your applications though so that's not really buying you much. You can always put your data files wherever you want. Programs should be on the c: drive.
