i commented on this thread last night in the kvr forums..you can see my comment on page 5.
im going to be staying away from upstairs for awhile.yesterday i was trying to help someone and i messed up. thought i knew what i was talking about and i was wrong.
then one user pretty much started telling me i post too much,i give misleading information,im acusing people of using pirated software.i need a dictionary.
#1 i dont post anymore than some people.
#2yes,for sure im not always right and i have no problem admmitting that.
#3im sorry but im not helping someone who says they havent contacted tech support when they have a serious problem and also says there copy of x1 didnt come with a manual.
#4 i probably do need a dictionary but to me this is clearly an insult to my intelegnce.
im sure i will get over this but its bothers me cause i do try to help.i mean no harm.
im just trying to fit in..maybe thats my problem.

Charlie - you'll notice I don't post much in the upstairs forum.  I post more in the Sonar 8.5 and below forum now than I used to before the X1 forum became the top dog.  but there are people in the top forum who think they know everything and the ego and attitudes has kept me from posting much there.  I rarely help people in the upper forums because of that and there's plenty of work to be done on the lower forums where the help is appreciated more.

I dont know if I seen the post in question Charlie, but let it be known that any help provided accurate or not is good.  Kinda like the "there is no stupid question" analogy.  I have been wrong  misreading or interpreting things. Like you I go back and acknowledge the fact and go on.  Im leaning the way of everyone here now as well,  not posting up there much anymore.  I do sit here in the evening with coffee and just read to see whats going on.  If I see something that sparks a thought that might help, I post and move on.  Really dont even want to hang to help but I am learning to work past it cause I do enjoy the chatting downstairs here-bunch of gr8 folks. Just dont let the FEW up there run ya off     Keep up the good postings as well!!!

(added)   BTW  is my location a bit more clearer now      its was kinda hidden in lower case underneath

Interesting to note Rene himself states that he doesn't work for Cakewalk anymore on that thread.   He was helping users with installation issues on the forum when the DP 1.5 update came out so I assume that this news has come about since then.

Presumably this means Cakewalk have no plans for any future software instrument development unless Roland are planning to do similar to Korg with a 'legacy' collection of their hardware.  I can't see that being financially viable though.

So I guess 'Cakewalk Instruments' is the latest forum since the Project 5 one to be left as 'legacy' interest only.

But I have seen more than one post asking for VI jupiters, Junos, VP330s etc and the like.. I think Roland could have a market for their VIs through CW

I've been staying away from upstairs also. I just posted on a thread about sample rates and someone tried to start in with me and I just walked away. I'm just not going to get in to that crap anymore.

There's 3 people up there who think they own this forum and they've ruined it for me, so I just stay away from up there unless it's something I'm very interested in.

Yes but if the excellent Korg VSTi's are anything to go by I shouldn't imagine that they contributed much to Korgs financial standing and now you can pick them up at $50 a throw.

It would be nice for all of us if they did but I can't see them making much money for Roland.
