.WMA file support for X1?

I have an Olympus Digital Voice Recorder DS-30 that I travel around with and do stuff like beatbox random rhythms into it, and now I want to groove quantize and apply some of these beats to MIDI.  But the files are in .WMA format, and for some reason I can't import these files into Sonar X1.  It isn't letting me import via the browser nor is it letting me import using the File>Import>Audio dropdown in the menu.

The reference manual clearly says .WMA files are supported, so I'm not sure what the deal is or why these files aren't registering as audio in Sonar X1a.  They're playing just fine in Windows Media Player.  Any suggestions?  At first, I tried making the extensions lower case, thinking maybe it was a case-sensitive thing, but that didn't work either.  In any case, for the moment I think I'm going see if I can dig up a decent free program to convert the files I want into .WAV and work with them from there...

    Thanks!

I knew something was up with those Olympus files.  They have a .WMA file extension, but when I convert them... the audio encoder identifies the file as wmav2 (Windows Media Audio 2) just like you said.  So if anyone goes searching for this topic, here's a better link:

    http://download.cnet.com/Free-Mp3-Wma-Ogg-Converter/3000-2140_4-10793572.html?tag=mncol;8

It's a free program.  Make sure you UNCHECK the radio box that asks you to install the additional toolbar-ware or whatever.  Free is a great price, and the converter works great.  So, obviously, the .wav files show up like they're supposed to in the browser.  I'm finally dragging and dropping my .wav converted, creative work flow into Sonar again.
