WMA/WAV Exports are way softer than in Sonar .. . . this is a new problem

I've searched some threads and haven't found an answer, so I'm sorry for anyone who has read this question before.

In Sonar 8.53 PE my mixes are plenty loud.  When I export to either wav or wma, using either main output or "entire mix" I get the same result - a way software recording.  It's not a different system, it's my windows desktop immediately after exporting, same speakers, sound card, etc.

If I read the wma or wav back into sonar it's loud.

I'm using the default settings for export - 44.1, 16 bit, triangular.  I don't remember this happening at all when I was using Sonar 6.x PE, but now that I'm upgraded to 8.53 it's happening.  Machine is Windows 7 64bit (everything is in the signature line of my post).

Anyone have an idea?

You might want to add "[solved]" to your thread title, Jeff.

It might also be helpful to someone if you went into more detail with your solution. Why was it quieter on the other computer?

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.
