***WON'T GO INTO RECORD???***

I had a problem with Sonar X2 Producer (or my computer) where after the first couple of takes, it would not allow me to enter the record stage. I would arm the track, then hit the "record" button and get a drop-down box giving me a choice of "record" or "step record". I hit "record" and nothing would happen. I would reset the engine, rearm the track, and sometimes it would work, most times not. I would have to try various things over a period of about 10 minutes, and eventually sometimes just save the track and exit,---then open it up again. It almost seems as if the RAM is filling up but not emptying (I am no computer wizard!). I thought maybe it was due to the fact that my laptop came with a small (160 GB) C: partition and it was almost full. So I did a clean reformat of Windows Ultimate and got rid of the partition. Same problem. Works great for maybe 2 or 3 takes, then won't go into record. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance, folks!
